• Belt Tension: A mechanical pump belt is considered qualified when it deflects 10 mm under pressure. Excessive looseness may cause slippage and abnormal noise.
• Fluid Replacement: ATF Dexron VI should be replaced every 40,000 km or 2 years to prevent pump core scoring due to fluid contamination.
• Air Bleeding Method: Electronic pumps can self-bleed air. For mechanical pumps, turn the steering wheel fully left and right three times on-site; air bleeding is complete when no bubbles are present in the reservoir.
