Function:
1. Maintain a belt tension of 200–450 N to prevent slipping;
2. Absorb belt vibrations, reducing noise by 3–8 dB;
3. Extend belt life by more than 30%.
Replacement cycle:
• Accessory belt tensioner: 60,000–80,000 km or when abnormal whining occurs;
• Timing belt tensioner: Replace at the same time as the timing belt, 80,000–100,000 km.
Routine inspection:
• Visually check if the tensioner mark is offset from the center every 10,000 km;
• Use a stethoscope to check for any 'squeaking' sound from the bearings every 20,000 km;
